Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia Visits HID Cutter Suction Dredger at Preah Samrong Dredging Project
Recently, H.E. Mr. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, visited the dredging project site in Preah Samrong Village, Sangkat Ta Khom, Ta Khom District, located in the central province of Cambodia. The project features a cutter suction dredger manufactured by Shandong Haohai Dredging Equipment Co., Ltd (HID).
The HID-built dredger will be mainly used for hydrological engineering works, serving dredging operations along rivers and channels. Its primary function is to improve water flow and prevent blockages, particularly in river stretches and areas around islands, thereby ensuring smooth and sustainable waterway navigation.
The dredger model in operation is the HID-CSD4518. It has a total length of 44.8 meters, a maximum dredging depth of 14.5 meters, and a total installed power of 1,500 horsepower. The vessel is capable of delivering a discharge capacity of 2,700–3,000 m³/h, making it a reliable and efficient solution for local water infrastructure needs.
This visit underscores the Cambodian government's commitment to enhancing water management systems and recognizes HID’s contributions to supporting the country’s river maintenance and flood prevention initiatives.
