In June 2025, as China marks the 24th National “Workplace Safety Month,” Shandong HaoHai Dredging Equipment Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in the dredging equipment manufacturing industry, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to workplace safety. In alignment with the nationwide theme — “Everyone Speaks Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response” — the company has taken concrete steps to build a solid foundation for safe and high-quality development.
Coinciding with National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Awareness Week, the company reviewed recent safety achievements and launched a series of targeted training programs and awareness campaigns to further enhance its safety culture.
All employees participated in dedicated training sessions on national safety laws and regulations and the company’s internal safety management systems, reinforcing red-line awareness and bottom-line thinking. Additionally, through the “First Safety Lesson After Resumption of Work,” which focused on operational risks related to dredgers and desilting vessels, the company explained the implementation of the “Eight Key Actions and Twenty Safety Measures” to ensure rules are effectively carried out.
A fire drill simulated a sudden blaze in the workshop, with focused exercises on confined space rescues and equipment power-offs. These realistic scenarios improved employees’ emergency response capabilities and team coordination. Case studies were also used to highlight workers’ rights to safety knowledge, suggestions, and emergency avoidance, while also emphasizing the legal consequences of unsafe practices.
Looking ahead, HID Shipayrd will roll out a series of specialized safety training programs tailored to the characteristics of the machinery manufacturing industry:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training: Hands-on demonstrations of proper use of anti-cut gloves, safety goggles, and anti-slip shoes, reinforced with real examples of mechanical hazards such as entanglement in rotating parts and flying debris.
Firefighting Principles and Equipment Operation: Instruction on appropriate use of dry powder and CO₂ extinguishers for fires involving oils and electrical equipment, followed by “blind selection” practical tests to assess staff readiness.
Emergency Response Scenario Drills: Simulated situations such as sudden mechanical injuries or workshop fires, covering the full emergency protocol from incident reporting and casualty evacuation to coordinated rescue.
Commuting Safety Education: Short films on “Ten Prohibitions for Commuting Safety” will be shown, highlighting risks like fatigue driving and improper charging of electric scooters.
